Cú Chulainn- “ Loyal Companions” Cú Chulainn is a well loved character from Irish mythology. Known as Setanta as a child, he renamed himself Cú Chulainn (the hound of Culainn) after he killed Culainn’s wolfhound. Cú Chulainn went on to defend Ulster from the armies of Queen Mebd of Connaught at the infamous battle of Cooley.
